August 23rd 2006:The language of unity

Love is the common language of unity.

When I comfort a lonely person I am in unity with someone who dries a small child's tears. When I speak tenderly to a sick relative I am in fellowship with someone who helps an old person with their shopping.

Love and kindness is the common language of unity.

It's what we're called to do, it's how we're called to live.

We learn this every time we meet with Jesus. It is a language all of us can learn.

Let's seek this kind of unity, and live together, and love one another.
